After graduating from college, I worked on the railroad for a bit and then got a law degree. My first law job was for a firm in Eugene, but I left them to work with the Oregon Attorney General's office. I'm still there, but did take a leave of absence to work for the National Conference of State Legislatures in Denver some years ago. Currently I manage the attorneys in the Human Services Section of the General Counsel Division, and am responsible for legal advice and litigation services primarily to the Department of Human Services and the Employment Department. It's a challenging and interesting job!

I married Helen Bergstrom in 1977, and we have three children. Katie is a teacher in Salem, Dan is an EMT in Seattle; and David just started law school in Washington, D.C. After all these years, we find ourselves in the position of having all three of them back in school this year for additional degrees and training. Life has been good and rewarding. Looking forward to seeing you at the reunion!
